Lipstick Series: Orange

How to Wear Orange Lips
Hey everyone! I was trying to think of a quick series of blog posts, and the obvious came to mind! How to wear different bold lipsticks! This is “I Live For Lipsticks” hello!? This series will consist of 6 different posts for 6 different bold lip colors (Orange, Fuchsia, Purple, Coral, Plum, and Red!) and what eye look I did to compliment each lipstick and also an outfit! I was thinking of what lipstick I should begin the series with, and I thought well, it’s summer…let’s go with orange! Now, this bold color may seem scary to most people…it took me forever to be brave enough to wear an orange lip outside the house. But it really is a lot more flattering than you think. This lip looks great if you have a medium-dark skin tone, or also girls with blond hair and blue eyes look BEAUTIFUL with an orange lip. If the orange is too bold for what you like, try out a orange lip product that has a sheerer coverage or you could go for a coral! Another thing, if you DO like a bright orange but you want to save your wallet the pain, you can find bright orange lipsticks at the drugstore! I recommend checking out the Maybelline Color Statement Vivids lipsticks! I think there is at least 2 different orange lipsticks and they’re around $6.00! Now, let’s get on with the party and see how I painted my face!

DISCLAIMER: This is not a post about me telling you this is what you HAVE to wear. This is just what I like to wear with this lip color. If you would feel better with just some mascara, foundation and the lipstick then go for it girl! Okay, back to the show…lol

Lipstick Series Orange

IN MY OPINION, a look that’s paired with an orange lip should be very simple, neutral, with thick lashes. Here are the products I used!

Eyes: Urban Decay’s Virgin on the whole lid, Urban Decay’s Naked blended through the crease and a little above the crease, Urban Decay’s Buck just in the crease, and a light matte cream eye shadow for a brow bone highlight. For the top liner I used Makeup Geek’s Corrupt eye shadow (any matte black shadow will do.) For the bottom waterline (the bottom rim inside your eye) I used NYX’s Pure White waterproof eye liner pencil. For the top lashes I used Clinique’s Lash Doubling mascara for length and Maybelline’s Colossal mascara for thickness. On the bottom lashes I used Benefit’s They’re Real mascara.

Face: Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 liquid foundation in Classic Ivory, NYX’s Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation in Nude, NYC’s Smooth Skin Bronzing Powder in Sunny, The Balm’s powder blush in Frat Boy, and Urban Decay’s Sin eye shadow for a highlight.

Lips: MAC’s Amplified lipstick in Morange

The outfit I paired with this look was a flowy colbalt blue top from H&M, a pair of skinny jeans from Old Navy, and a black bib necklace from Charming Charlie’s! This is just what I thought would compliment the orange lip. I LOVE blue and orange together. Other colors that pair well with the orange lip are all neutrals (black, gray, tan, white, etc…) I wouldn’t recommend wearing this with a plain orange top, but a printed top or dress that has a WEE little bit of orange in it would be fabulous!

Thanks for reading everyone! Which lipstick color should I post about next? Because I’m completely indecisive. I also want to thank the people who have been reading and offering to help me with blog posts! I promise you won’t just see my face on here soon! Love you!
