How to Wear Coral Lips
Hey everyone! Hope this lipstick series isn’t getting too boring. I promise there is only one more after this one! After the lipstick series, I’ll go back to doing random makeup looks, maybe some product reviews, and more! Anyways…back to our original programming lol…

Today’s lip color is coral! It’s a such a vibrant and perfect summer color. Coral comes in varying shades as well. You have your pinky corals, the true corals, red toned corals, and the orangey corals. When it comes to finding the coral shade that looks best on you, I’d recommend using the same rules that apply to finding your perfect red lipstick. If you have a warm undertone, you can pull off the true corals, the red corals and the orangey corals. Ladies with cool undertones, do not fear coral! I used to think that coral was the enemy…but I have found my perfect pinky coral that flatters my cool toned skin. If coral still intimidates you, try a peachy pink shade or even a coral with a sheerer formula! Coral lipsticks can be found everywhere from Sephora to CVS! The lipstick I used in this makeup look is Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids lipstick in Shocking Coral. This shade has a lot of pink undertones in it, making it flattering for my skin tone. Other well-known coral lipsticks are Revlon’s Super Lustrous lipstick in Coralberry, MAC Vegas Volt, NYX Femme, Maybelline Coral Crush, and more!

For the eyes in today’s makeup look, I really like to pair warm toned neutral shadows with a coral lip. A lot of people prefer to do the opposite for a complimentary look, but for some reason I think on me it looks best to keep the warm tones so it’s all cohesive. The warm tones will help brighten my eye color and the warm toned blush and bronzer will liven up my skin. And of course…because I couldn’t resist…I added a pop of color in the inner corner! JUDGE ME! Today, I decided on green. Why green you ask? I like it. That’s why! LOL! As always…you don’t have to follow what I like to do for a coral lip, a neutral eye of any kind looks beautiful! Anyways……. Here’s how I decided to paint my face!

Lipstick Series Coral1

Eyes: MAC Expensive Pink all over the top lid up to the crease, Urban Decay Naked blended from crease to above crease as transition shade, Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear in crease blended down to the outer half of the lower lash line, MAC Yogurt for the brow bone highlight. For liner I used Makeup Geek Corrupt eyeshadow for a softer line, in my top and bottom waterlines I have on NYX black waterproof eyeliner, the green in the inner corner is NYX Slide On Glide On waterproof eyeliner in Esmeralda topped off with NYX Money Maker eye shadow. For mascara on my top lashes I used Maybelline Colossal and for the bottom lashes I used Benefit’s They’re Real.

Face: Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 liquid foundation in Classic Ivory, L’Oreal True Match concealer in N123, NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat powder foundation in Nude, NYC Smooth Skin bronzing powder in Sunny, The Balm powder blush in Frat Boy, and for highlight Urban Decay Scratch eye shadow.

Lips: NYX lip liner in Nude, Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipstick in Shocking Coral, and NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait

After you put on your eye makeup and your coral lip color, you have to pick an outfit to compliment your bright lip. I would recommend sticking with neutrals for the most part. If you can’t resist color, a floral print with bright colors would be cute, or I like teals, blues, and purples with coral lipstick.

Thanks for reading! The last post of this series will be about how to wear a plum/berry lip. It will be posted on Thursday July 10th.
