Lipstick Series: Bright Pink

How to Wear Bright Pink Lipstick
Yes, the fourth of six posts of my lipstick series is here! This is another exciting one for me…BRIGHT PINKS! I wore bold pink lipsticks of all types throughout high school and I still absolutely love it. There are SO many different shades of bright pink, it can be as confusing as choosing a red or purple! You have your bright baby pinks, your vivid Barbie pinks, your coral pinks, and your deeper fuchsias! Fortunately, bold pinks ranging from blue toned to yellow toned look great on all skin tones. What I mean is…are you very yellow toned? You can still wear a blue toned bright pink and look fabulous and the other way around! If you’re just branching out with your lip colors, trying a bright pink is the easiest transition into trying bold lipsticks. And this color really has no rules. Just pick the bright pink you like best, put it on, and STRUT YOUR STUFF! For the eye look, this really is up to you. Like any other bold lip, pairing it with a neutral eye or just some mascara is very wearable and classy. A bright pink also looks great with a deep brown, purple, silver, or even a black smokey eye. Or hell I’ll even wear a lime green eye shadow with a medium brown in the crease and black eyeliner with a pink lip! When doing both bold eyes and bold pink lips, it just all depends on the occasion or your personal preference. Now, when it comes to picking an outfit to compliment your pink lip, the options are endless! All neutrals of course are a great choice, but even some colors look gorgeous! I absolutely love wearing cobalt blue, bright green, teal, purple, yellow, basically any color! This is why a bright pink is so easy to wear…it just compliments any outfit and any eye look! Below this is the eye look I created to compliment my bright pink lip. Check out how I decided to paint my face!

Lipstick Series Bright Pink1

Eyes: On the lid and in the inner corner I patted on Urban Decay Sin eye shadow, Urban Decay Naked eye shadow in the crease and blended upwards. Just in the crease and blended down onto the lower lash line is Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear. The brow bone highlight is MAC Yogurt. For liner I used Makeup Geek Corrupt eye shadow for a softer line. The pop of gold in the inner corner is Urban Decay Scorch 24/7 pencil with Urban Decay Baked eye shadow topped off with NYX Liquid Crystal Liner in Crystal Gold. The top lashes have Maybelline Colossal mascara and the bottom lashes have Benefit’s They’re Real mascara.

Face: Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 liquid foundation in Classic Ivory, NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat powder foundation in Nude, NYC Smooth Skin bronzer in Sunny, ELF Studio powder blush in Pink Passion.

Lips: Urban Decay lip pencil in Anarchy, MAC Playland Lipstick in Happy-Go-Lucky, and Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss lip color in Big Bang in the middle.

Now…the outfit…

Lipstick Series Bright Pink2

My dress is from Target, my necklace is from Charming Charlies, I’m also wearing black bow earrings from Claires, and my shoes are a nude flat with a pop of neon pink on the front and gold spikes (for those who know me personally, you know I wear these ALL the time!)

Now, this look I created will look great with bright pink lipsticks of all types. Here is my bright pink lipstick collection to help you think of what kind is your favorite!

Lipstick Series Bright Pink3

Maybelline Babylips in Pink Shock- a very sheer fuchsia, great for those who are a little shy about wearing bold pinks! Very smooth application and feels moisturizing. Price- $3.99
Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Big Bang- a glossy and glittery blue toned fuchsia that really makes your teeth look white! You don’t feel the glitter against your lips, and it applies beautifully. Price- $20.00
MAC Lipstick in Saint Germain- MAC’s website describes this lipstick as a “clean pastel pink.” It has white pigment in it, making it more of a pastel shade but it is VERY intense. It almost looks like pink cake frosting when you swatch it, but as long as you pair it with a simple neutral eye, it is GORGEOUS on all ladies! It has an Amplified finish so its very pigmented and smooth and lasts a decent amount of time. Price- $16.00
Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lipstick in Pink Pop- This color is similar to MAC’s Saint Germain, but it’s a shade darker, and a little more glossy which makes it a little more wearable. It feels soft and creamy on the lips and looks beautiful with just some mascara and a little bit of purple liner smudged on the lid. Price- $7.49
MAC Lipstick in Pink Nouveau- This is a lipstick I wear at least two days a week! MAC’s website describes this lipstick as a “bright pink” but it’s not so bright and intimidating like you may think. It’s a little darker, a little more neutral than the others here but it does make a statement. It’s perfect for an everyday lipstick that’s more than just a nude. It has a Satin finish, meaning it’s almost matte but there’s a slight shine and it’s a bit creamier than a matte. Price- $16.00
MAC Viva Glam Nicki- Unfortunately, this lipstick was limited edition, but you CAN find dupes! It’s a bright yellow pink. On fairer skin tones it appears more neon coral but on darker skin it looks like a very bright pink. Two lipsticks that look identical to this lipstick are Lime Crime’s Opaque Lipstick in Geradium ($18.00) and Wet n Wild’s Megalast Lipstick in Pinkerbelle ($2.00-$3.00).
MAC Lipstick in Candy Yum Yum- MAC’s website describes this lipstick as a “neon pink” and that’s EXACTLY what it is. It’s so bright, so neon, and it’s so damn BEAUTIFUL! It may seem scary, but you have to try it at least once. It has a matte texture but it’s not super drying on the lips. Price- $16.00
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Fuchsia Fever- The color of this lipstick is very similar to Candy Yum Yum, but it looks about a half a shade deeper. It’s very creamy and applies well. Price- $7.49
MAC Lipstick in Happy-Go-Lucky- Another limited edition lipstick from the Playland Collection, but luckily this color has an endless amount of dupes. It’s a bright pink, more cool toned than yellow. It has an Amplified finish and it’s one of my all time favorites!
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fuchsia Fusion- This is a deeper fuchsia color that almost has a red undertone. It feels so comfortable on the lips and looks gorgeous on all skin tones. It has a cream finish. Price- $5.00-$7.00
MAC Lipstick in Girl About Town- My all time favorite true blue fuchsia! This is one of MAC’s best sellers. It has an Amplified finish and it looks good on the fairest of skins to the deepest of skins! There’s not much else I can say besides…you kind of need it. Seriously. Price- $16.00
Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lipstick in Vivid Rose- In the bottom picture of swatches, it looks identical to Girl About Town. But it has more of a red undertone and is glossier in person. This is another all time favorite pink because of the color, texture on the lips and the lasting power. Definitely recommend it! Price- $7.49
MAC Lipstick in Impassioned- Described as an “amped up fuchsia” on MAC’s website, Impassioned has its own special quality to it. It is a fuchsia, but with a coral undertone. It has an Amplified texture. Price- $16.00
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Wild Orchid- This is a deep blue toned fuchsia with a pearly finish. It has a blue shimmer throughout and although I usually don’t care for shimmer in my lip products, it gives the lipstick a little something extra and it’s very pretty. Price- $5.00-$7.00

Love you all!
