Halloween Series: Sexy Cat

Posted 5 years ago - by: Kate Faulhaber

Hey guys! It’s my first Halloween makeup post!! I thought I should begin the series with a twist on a typical Halloween costume makeup…a cat. I was pretty much a cat every year for Halloween. It’s easy to get a costume together and…well I’m a typical white girl and love cats. I created a very dramatic black winged smokey eye and added more than just whiskers to my face. Please read on if you’re interested in how I painted on this sexy cat face!

Eyes: I primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion. I applied tape to the outer part of my eye so my black smokey eye had a cat eye shape. I began with a transition shade blended from the crease up to a little below the brow. I used MAC Cork for this. I added L’Oreal Infallible gel liner in Blackest Black as a base on my eye lids. On top, I applied Makeup Geek Corrupt with a flat eye shadow brush and then I took a fluffy eye shadow brush with Corrupt on it and began blending the black into the crease. For the brown in the crease, I used MAC Copperplate to further blend the black. Keep adding Copperplate and Corrupt to the crease and blend until it’s to your liking. For the brow bone highlight I applied MAC Brule. I applied NYX Retractable eye liner in Black on the lower waterline and the lower lashline and smoked it out with Corrupt. On the inner corner I drew in a little kind of bird beak shape with Urban Decay 24/7 eye liner in Scorch and then I topped it off with the gold from the L’Oreal Hip Eye Shadow Duo in Guilded. Now you can remove the tape and clean up the eye shadow fallout. I applied two coats Clinique Lash Doubling mascara to my top and bottom lashes.

Face: I did my typical face makeup routine with Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation in Classic Ivory, Revlon Photo Ready concealer in Light, and NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat powder foundation in Nude. For the cat mouth and whiskers, this will all be with a black eye liner of some form. I colored just the under portion of my nose with the L’Oreal gel liner, and with my NYC black liner pencil I drew a line on the philtrum (the little dip under your nose, above your lips) and outlined my upper lip and a little beyond that on both sides to create a cat mouth. I dotted the liner in this area for a more realistic cat mouth look. From this, I drew whiskers with my Kat Von D Tattoo liner in Trooper.

Lips: I lined the remainder of my lips with a black eye pencil from NYC then I applied NYX Macaron Lippie in Chambord.

Hope you all enjoyed! I think I look a bit hilarious. But I like it! Love you all <3
