Everyday Makeup Tutorial

Posted 5 years ago - by: Kate Faulhaber

Hey everyone! I wanted to do another makeup tutorial but something that more of you will feel comfortable with wearing for day time. I don’t really have an everyday look simply because I like changing my makeup day by day. I wanted to show you all a look that was easy and flattering on all eye colors. Only 4 shadows were used in this look (I know that seems ridiculous to some people, but I sometimes use up to 8 shadows for an eye look!) Well, please keep reading to see how I painted my face for day time!

Everyday Makeup Tutorial
Eyes: First, I started with my Wet N Wild Take On The Day eye shadow primer and blended it from my top lash line up to my brows and on my lower lash line. Then, I took a shimmery cream/skin tone colored shadow by Urban Decay called Sellout and patted that on the inner half of my lid and the inner corner. Then, I took one of my favorite MAC eye shadows called Satin Taupe and patted that on the outer half of the lid and blended that a little into the crease. Make sure Sellout and Satin Taupe are both blended into each other in the middle of your lid. Then as always I took my favorite eye shadow for blending the crease Urban Decay Naked and blended that through the crease and slightly above. For the brow bone highlight, I used South by Kat Von D from the Esperanza palette. For the top waterline I used NYX Retractable eye liner in Black to make my lashes look thicker. Now, for the next step this is up to you. Whenever I do an everyday look, I like a little pop of color either in my bottom waterline or the lower lash line. I used a bright colored eye liner and top it off with a coordinating eye shadow color. If you’d like to keep it fairly neutral for this step, try out a navy, a plum, or gold eye liner. But, I love my color! So I applied MAC Chromographic pencil in Hi Def Cyan and topped it with a bright blue shadow from an Avon palette. My top lashes have a combination of Clinique Lash Doubling and Maybelline Colossal mascaras and the bottom lashes have Benefit They’re Real mascara.

Face: Using a beauty sponge, I applied Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 liquid foundation in Classic Ivory all over my face blending down to my neck so I don’t have the “mask” look. To set it into place I used NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat powder foundation in Nude. I don’t contour my face everyday, so today I just added a little bit of NYC Smooth Skin bronzer in Sunny on my cheekbones, my hairline, and on my jawline for a bit of color. For blush, I like to wear The Balm powder blush in Frat Boy. For a little bit of a glow, I used Urban Decay Sin shadow on my cheek bones and my cupid’s bow (area above upper lip).

Lips: This is also up to you! Like nude lipsticks? I personally love Milani Nude Creme or MAC Creme Cup! A medium pink? I like a light layer of MAC Pink Nouveau. But for me personally…I love my bold lipsticks! So today I decided to go with a fuchsia. First, I drew on Urban Decay Anarchy lip pencil and colored in my lips completely. Then, I topped that with Maybelline Vivid lipstick in Vivid Rose!

Thanks for reading and I hope you’re enjoying the blog!
