Celebrity Inspired Makeup- Demi Lovato

Posted 5 years ago - by: Kate Faulhaber

Hey ladies and gents! Today I’m finally getting around to another celebrity makeup tutorial. I’ve been dying to recreate a Demi Lovato look…I may do 3 or 4, haha! Besides her talent, her makeup style is perfect. She tends to wear neutral eyes with bold liner and bright lips, but also experiments with color on her eyes and interesting shapes. Today’s recreation is based on this look of Demi’s.

BABY WHEN THEY LOOK UP AT THE SKYYYY WE’LL BE SHOOTING STARS just…passing…OKAY I’M DONE SORRY.

I love this song. I love this makeup. I just love Demi. The makeup used in the video was created to glow in the dark..but I do not have these products…so I will be using my Urban Decay Electric Palette. Here’s a better look at the makeup in daylight. (NikkieTutorials owns this photo, not I. She’s an amazing makeup artist, if you don’t know her…BE FAMILIAR.)

Eyes: Eyes primed? Check. Set the primer with a light layer of matte cream shadow or face powder? Check. Now, take an eyeshadow that’s about 3-4 shades darker than your skin tone and blend that in the crease of your eye. This will add subtle definition and depth to your eye look. For the liner, get out a cobalt blue, a medium lime green, and a chartreuse or yellow shadows. If you’d like, you can create the winged liner shape with a white eye liner or white eye shadow base to make the colors pop even more. Take your cobalt shadow on an angled brush and line your eyes creating a medium wing. Line your lower lash line with the cobalt shade as well. On another small brush, take your lime green shadow and line above the cobalt. Now with the chartreuse or yellow shadow on a third small eye brush, line above the green and blend a tiny bit for a gradient affect. If the winged liner takes over your entire eye lid, that’s totally fine! That’s the look I wanted to achieve anyways. If one color isn’t popping as much as another, add more! On the lower waterline, add a light/medium blue eyeliner for more color. Now add a lengthening mascara and you’re done with the eyes!

Face: Add your favorite foundation, concealer, and powder for the perfect base. To me, Demi looks like she’s only wearing contour powder. So contour your cheeks and forehead. If you’d like, add a light pink or neutral blush that doesn’t stand out too much. Then, add a subtle highlight for a bit of a glow.

Lips: In the video, her lips appear to be a neon pink in the dark, so I’m not quite sure what the exact shade looks like, but I’m going for a bright pink. So yeah, apply a bright pink lipstick.

The finished look…
