Pinup Girl Makeup: Day to Night
A day to night look is ideal for the everyday woman. I wanted to create a day to night look that was inspired by iconic women from the 1940′s and 50′s. Hence, creating a day time appropriate pinup girl look (inspired by Rita Hayworth) and a night time going out look (inspired by Bettie Page) The transition from day to night is only a few more steps and very easy to achieve. Read on to see how I created these looks!

1940s and 1950s Pinup Girl Makeup Day to Night Rita Hayworth to Bettie PageRita Hayworth is best known for her acting in movies like Gilda, The Lady from Shanghai, and more. Her makeup was simple and easy to achieve, but iconic and beautiful nonetheless. For Rita, it was ALL about the long flirty lashes, matte flawless skin, and the blue toned red lip. This look may seem a bit intimidating for a day time event, but because the eye makeup is SO light, the lip is just the perfect pop of color. Below is a photo of my recreation of this look. I tried my best to keep it authentic. Scroll on to see what products I used to paint my face!

1940s and 1950s Pinup Girl Makeup Day to Night Rita Hayworth to Bettie Page3 Bettie Page is one of the most iconic pinup girls from the 1950′s. Everyone recognizes the curled bangs, the big blue eyes lined with black, and the bold cherry lip. I know in this picture her makeup doesn’t look as dark as a night time look usually is, but the pictures of her makeup that I wanted to take inspiration from…well there were boobs and bits out for all to see…This picture was my best bet of keeping it classy and tasteful on I Live For Lipsticks. With just a few tweeks and additions to your Rita Hayworth daytime look, you can bring out your inner pinup girl for a beautiful night out look!

Remember that this Bettie look is an addition to what you’ve done with your day look inspired by Rita Hayworth.
